Ecohardwood hosted event for construction, interior, and architecture professionals at Lithuanian Embassy in London

Dec 04, 2023

For the first time in England, an event was held for Lithuanians working in the fields of construction, architecture, and interior design.

An event dedicated to Lithuanians working in construction, architecture, and interior design took place in England for the first time. About sixty guests gathered for a networking evening and industry discussion at the Lithuanian Embassy in London at the end of November.
The event was organized by Ecohardwood, manufacturers of wooden floors, doors, stairs, and other oak products, in collaboration with the Lithuanian Embassy. During the evening, industry representatives not only established new valuable connections but also participated in discussions about the challenges and opportunities in the construction, architecture, and interior design business in England.
The attendees were welcomed by the temporary ambassador, diplomat Lina Zigmantaite, and Ecohardwood director Aiste Freestone.
"The importance of the construction sector is massive: you literally build and shape the world we live in. Despite the challenges of recent years – economic uncertainty, rising interest rates, declining export demand, and complex geopolitical circumstances – the construction sector has demonstrated resilience," said Lina Zigmantaite addressing the attendees.

"We hope to continue a similar series of events in the future, bringing together construction industry professionals in England, sharing experiences, communicating, collaborating, strengthening, and growing," said Aiste Freestone.

The panel discussion included experts in the fields of construction, design, and architecture who have been successfully working in England and Europe for many years.

Interior designer Toma Navickiene, specializing in kitchen interiors, shared her experience. Having worked with major UK kitchen manufacturers like Wren Kitchens, Toma now leads her own business. A few years ago, she founded a Kutchenhaus branch in Potters Bar in Hertfordshire county, and she is currently preparing to open a second showroom in Welwyn Garden City.

Ruta Benetyte, who studied architecture in England for twelve years at Plymouth, London South Bank, and Westminster universities, is now the innovative and progressive leader and architect of Vita Architecture studio. During the evening, Ruta shared insights into the innovations prevalent in the world of London architecture.

Paulius Vaizgenis (Hebden Design Studio), Rimvydas Kabalinas (Energy Eco), Deimantas Kaciauskas (GBS Fire Protection), Donatas Butauskas (Galliard Homes), Mantas Kaciulis (Energy Eco), Tomas Tamosaitis (GBS Fire Protection).

Giedrius Leliuga, the CEO of Medzio Stilius and Ecowood Group, founded the oak processing business 25 years ago. Today, Ecowood is one of the most modern wood factories in Europe, and Medzio Stilius is the largest sales and installation network for floors, doors, and stairs in Lithuania. The company operates successfully not only in Lithuania but also in Europe. "Our customers in England and all countries are similar: they are united by a love for the beauty of natural, genuine wood, oak," emphasized Giedrius.

Dovile Prokofjoviene (Oaklex), Nerijus Prokofjavas (Oaklex), Zygimantas Daugela (Ornate Kitchens & Interiors), Martinas Rakauskas (MNM Fix).

Dangis Sulzinskas continues the activities of Ecowood: he established the Ecohardwood in London ten years ago and has been supplying oak wood products to the English market since then. Persistence, determination, and, most importantly, a quality product are the guarantees of success, as Dangis is convinced.

We used Dune brushed throughout our new house renovation. Absolutely love it. Beautiful tone, interesting details, hard wearing. I did wax the floors after installation as recommended which takes some time but makes all the difference. Highly recommend.
We recently collaborated with Ecohardwoods for our project in Ealing, and I must say, the experience was outstanding. A special thanks to Irmantas for his invaluable assistance.
