Bringing the Balinese aesthetic into your home with oak flooring

This two-story home is reminiscent of Bali, steps away from a forest with oak floors and exotic wood furniture blending harmoniously. Ecohardwood oak flooring is perfectly displayed in this interior design by Dovile Sakevice.

Rustic interior elegance

Keeping things simple is Sakevice's mantra. Using the same colour for solid oak floors and doors creates a harmony and aesthetic.

A rustic interior is highlighted by walnut colour oil used as a finishing touch. Walnut (3481) is one of Ecohardwood's most popular colours. It is lush, warm, and naturally beautiful. It looks great when combined with rustic oak floorboards of a more branched, character-grade.

We can see the artistic works that nature has created right in front of us: textures and character instead of a monotone or dull baseboard. The forest outside the window is extended onto the floor, connecting indoor and outdoor spaces.

Oak appears in unexpected places in this interior: oak handles on the wardrobe, oak veneers for the bathroom cabinet facades, and a solid oak tabletop in the kitchen. Oak plays a significant role in the interior of this house due to its many uses. According to the designer, oak is durable and versatile. Once you experience its warmth, you will realize it is the perfect investment.

The earthy colours in a home create a feeling of warmth and cosiness. Designer Sakevice uses stone, delicate textiles, and oak wood to highlight the natural qualities of each material.

"When it comes to floors, wooden floors are usually the most popular choice. It doesn't matter how big or small the room is. Any home with wood floors, especially oak ones, will have a unique quality, warmth, and naturalness. It is typical for oil-coated wood floors to scratch or stain over time, but they are easy to maintain and are strong and durable. Walking barefoot on oak floors is a treat," the designer says.

We chose Ecohardwood having seen their engineered oak floors (Tobacco) in a friend's house. We found Irmantas a pleasure to deal with. We love the look and finish of the product and chose it in part because it works well with our underfloor heating. There were a few spillages by our builders but the Ecohardwood team have been very helpful in helping our builders to remedy these mistakes. Irmantas has remained very reassuring and calm! We fully recommend the product having lived in our house now for a few months. If I did it again I might use Ecohardwood to do the installation.
